BAT Ideological Group Hails Fagbemi’s Record of Service, Celebrates Him as Pillar of Renewed Hope
The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG) has celebrated the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi, SAN,
on the occasion of his 30th anniversary of elevation to the Inner Bar, describing the milestone as a testament to three decades of exceptional legal practice, intellectual depth, integrity and service to Nigeria.
The group also described him as one of the key pillars driving the legal and institutional objectives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The group, through its Convener, Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi, said Fagbemi’s record since assuming office reflects competence, discipline and commitment to national service. Atoyebi, in previous articles assessing the performance of the Attorney-General, described Fagbemi as the “quiet architect” of the administration’s legal stability, highlighting major achievements including the recovery of national assets, successful arbitrating for Nigeria in international disputes and the Supreme Court victory on financial autonomy for the country’s 774 local governments.
Among the milestones highlighted are the recovery of a $200 million bond and $10 million in legal costs in the Process and Industrial Developments (P&ID) case, the $6.2 million saved through the European Dynamics arbitration, the return of £2,125,944 in recovered assets from the Bailiwick of Jersey and the $50 million settlement involving Glencore International A.G. among others
The Ministry of Justice also recorded 250 convictions in its first year under Fagbemi, including 87 terrorism-related convictions.
BAT Ideological Group also recalled the Attorney-General’s personal sacrifice and professional pedigree, noting his decision to step aside from traditional succession in Ijagbo to focus on his national assignment. The group said his calm disposition, intellectual depth and results-driven approach exemplify the kind of leadership required to translate President Tinubu’s reforms into lasting institutional gains.
Following its engagement with Fagbemi on September 1, 2026, BAT Ideology appointed him Grand Patron of the movement, an appointment he graciously accepted. The group said the recognition reflects its confidence in his leadership and record of service, while reaffirming its commitment to supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and mobilising Nigerians around the administration’s achievements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
BAT-IG said it is proud to celebrate Prince Fagbemi not only for the victories recorded under his watch, but also for the integrity, humility and sense of duty with which he continues to serve Nigeria. The group expressed confidence that his leadership will continue to inspire greater commitment to national service and strengthen the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Signed:
Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi
Convener,
