BAT-IG WELCOMES NEW PCC GUIDELINES, PRESSES FOR GRASSROOTS MOBILISATION

Wednesday, November 4, 2026

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu Ideological Group (BAT-IG) has welcomed the new guidelines issued by the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, on participation in campaign rallies ahead of the 2027 presidential election as adequately focused.

The Group describes the directive as a timely and strategic measure to promote discipline, strengthen coordination and redirect campaign efforts towards grassroots mobilisation across the country.

Under the guidelines, Ministers, political appointees and members of the PCC are expected to attend rallies in their respective home states while concentrating on mobilisation across their polling units, wards and Local Government Areas. Directorates without specific rally assignments are also required to focus on their approved work plans and budgets.

BAT-IG believes the directive addresses the need for a more structured and effective campaign approach, where political leaders and party stakeholders prioritise engaging voters within their constituencies rather than converging unnecessarily at rallies across different states.

The Group emphasises that the strength of the 2027 campaign will be determined not merely by attendance at rallies, but by the depth of grassroots engagement, voter mobilisation and the ability to communicate the achievements and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to Nigerians.

BAT-IG also welcomes the Council’s commitment to enhancing the visibility of APC candidates for State Assemblies, House of Representatives and Senate, noting that a successful campaign must be comprehensive and inclusive across all levels of the party and all encompassing in details.

The Group calls on all concerned stakeholders to comply fully with the guidelines and remain committed to building a disciplined, coordinated and grassroots-driven campaign capable of delivering victory for the APC in 2027.
