Coal miner, MC Mining has announced the resignation of Dr Steele West as a non-executive director, effective October 15, 2026.

Dr West was appointed as a non-executive director in September 2024 and served as a member of MC Mining’s safety, health, environment and technical committee during his tenure, which included oversight of the company’s Uitkomst Colliery operations.

“On behalf of the board, I thank Dr West for his commitment and contribution to MC Mining,” said chairperson Albert Deng. “He served the company with diligence and provided valuable independent perspective during his tenure, and we wish him every success in his future endeavours”.

MC Mining did not announce a replacement for Dr West or provide a reason for his resignation.
