The World Gold Council and Dynacor Group have signed a memorandum of understanding to help formalise artisanal and small-scale gold mining and expand responsibly produced gold's access to global supply chains.
The partnership will focus on responsible processing infrastructure, supply-chain traceability and stronger environmental, social and occupational-safety practices.
The organisations plan to work with governments, industry stakeholders, international organisations, investors, non-governmental organisations and standard-setting bodies to develop best-practice principles for gold-processing plants.
They will also support the creation of a globally recognised standard for processing-plant operations.
The proposed principles are expected to cover miner due diligence, origin verification, traceability, environmental performance, occupational health and safety, anti-money-laundering controls, reporting, assurance and responsible sourcing.
The collaboration will support the World Gold Council's Gold Processing Initiative, which uses origin-verification technology, centralised processing facilities and responsible buyers to improve supply-chain visibility and market access. The initiative also seeks to improve gold recovery and reduce mercury use.
"This collaboration represents an important step toward creating a scalable and practical pathway for formalising artisanal and small-scale gold mining. By combining responsible processing infrastructure, robust standards, traceability, and greater market access, we have an opportunity to support miners, strengthen supply chain integrity, and build a more transparent and inclusive gold ecosystem that can be replicated across many countries," WGC Chief Executive Officer David Tait said.
Dynacor, which has operated in the artisanal-mining supply chain since 1996, operates the Veta Dorada processing plant in Peru and owns a gold exploration property there. The company also began processing ore at its Galam pilot plant in Senegal's Kédougou region in July 2026, according to a separate company release.
"This MOU reflects our commitment to achieving a globally responsible ASGM processing business by fostering greater opportunities for legitimate ASGM production to enter the formal supply chain. As we embark on our international expansion, the agreement highlights the growing institutional support for our business model and reaffirms our ability to unlock long-term growth through close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders," Dynacor President and CEO Daniel Misiano said.
